The shift from fossil fuels to sustainable energy demands changes and generates its own challenges. We at Santane assist our customers to tackle these challenges and to select the best feasible and cost effective solution in their energy transition journey.

Our aim is to guide and support our clients towards sustainability energy path and we do it by providing engineering and technological solutions in order to reduce CO2 emissions. Solutions employed by us include Energy efficiency, Deployments of renewables, Clean, safe & connected mobility, Competitive industry and circular economy, Infrastructure and inter-connections, Bio-economy and natural carbon sinks, Carbon capture and storage.

Decarbonisation

Global efforts have driven innovation and scaling up of decarbonization technologies for the power, buildings, energy and transport sectors. We offer comprehensive portfolio of services like Feasibility of Decarbonisation, Decarbonisation Direction Analysis, Financial Modelling, Cost Estimations and Valuations, abatement pathways. Our technology experts implement Digital Twinning and IoT applications to address the critical decarbonisation challenges of our customers.

Santane's global energy technology service provides data insight and analytics tools that are critical for decision makers and business developers as they define their future activities with the energy technologies that are emerging at the leading edge of the transition. We cover oil refineries, electricity and heat generation, cement manufacturing, chemicals and petrochemicals. Our services support our customers to achieve:

  • Efficient use of energy with reduced carbon footprint;
  • Leadership through innovative technology;
  • Competitive advantage in the market;
  • Reduced carbonfootprint at reduced cost;
  • Success towards meeting net-zero targets.

Carbon Capture and Storage

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is the process of capturing waste carbon dioxide (CO2) from large point sources, such as fossil fuel (coal, gas fired) power plants and large industrial sources. CCS is considered as one option in helping to decarbonize industry in the short term and Santane offers engineering and technology solutions including a bespoke CO2 capture, utilisation and storage consultancy services to its customers. These services include:

  • CCS legal and regulatory framework assessment and design;
  • Feasibility Studies for CCS;
  • Value Engineering;
  • CO2 Price Forecast and Financial Modelling;
  • Environmental Impact Assessment; and
  • Risk and Safety Management.

Hydrogen Technologies

Indirect electrification by using hydrogen is one means of achieving decarbonisation of production processes. Hydrogen is classified as blue hydrogen and green hydrogen. Blue hydrogen is hydrogen produced using natural gas and refinery fuel gas, and where the CO2 that is released during production is captured and stored. Green hydrogen is defined as hydrogen produced via electrolysis using power sourced from renewable sources such as offshore wind farms or solar power.

Production use and storage of hydrogen may result in similar risks such as of hydrocarbon gases. Some of the studies that we have developed capability in and provided on similar projects include:

  • Regulation and regulatory guidance;
  • Feasibility Studies;
  • Safety Engineering & Risk Management;
  • Assurance and Verification;
  • Human Factors and Ergonomics;
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics Studies (Dispersion, Fires and Explosion); and
  • Layout Study.
